Testing @ MIS

We had a productive day of testing at MIS in Brooklyn. With the input of driver Derrike Cope we were able to try out several suspension settings that improved each time out.

Aside from minor problems and a major one of a blown engine we were able record lap times that were on par with Tony Stewart. Question comes into play as to whether or not Stewart was out driving the limit of the car or reigning it in just so he could have "safe" tests. At any rate Derrike gave us times we are happy with.

The word from owner John Conely is that we have a sponsor for Michigan, but as of this posting time, we have been unable to pry the name of that sponsor from his lips.

Redundancy can make all the difference in certain safety restraints. One way or another we will maintain position on this safety equipment.

Prop Install
Greg and Brian prepare to re-install the Monte's drive shaft following the replacement of the racer's main engine due to valve failure. The replacement engine went on to provide satisfactory results for the day of testing at Brooklyn.
Engine Drop
Conely crew members including owner John Conely, top right, work feverishly to get the replacement engine installed to make use of the remaining 3 hours of testing allowed at MIS.

Waiting

Derrike appears to show the frustration many drivers endure when they test at the track: hurry up and wait; a cycle that continues until the transporter hauls away the car at the end of the day.
